In developing the soundtrack, they sought to respond closely to the melancholy that emerges from Kirsanoff’s images, while allowing the music to become an integral part of the film’s emotional and dramatic world. The result is a new musical interpretation of a remarkable film from the 1920s, created through the collaboration of father and daughter.
